I was really surprised to see HK as a mountainous area. i mean, i thought it was a mega city full of buildings and that's all. but what i saw was a symphonic combination of natural and artificial creations - of modernity and nature. there were buildings everywhere, at the foot, on top, behind the hills. and i wondered if HK ever experience earthquakes or landslides. basta, ang galeng! para akong nasa antipolo na pinalibutan ng mga skyscrapers.

it's weird din that when we reached the upscale part of tsim sha tsui, i felt like being in makati - walang katapusang makati. somehow, it made me miss home.

i was greeted by this in the morning...

mejo na-hassle kame on the second day. dapat after lunch eh pupunta na kame ng shenzhen, as indicated in our itinerary. kaso nagkaproblema daw sa visa dahil nga sa naganap sa manila - at ito'y iniexplain na andun ako na parang ewan ko kung paranoid ako kase feeling ko eh ini-emphasize pa ng tour guide na dahil DAW sa pilipinas kaya madedelay kame. we arrived in shenzhen at about 7pm. at eto, immigration na naman.

this was where i almost cried. as in muntik na kung hindi lang ako nahihiya sa mgs students ko. at first, the officer smiled at me, acknowledging that i was part of the big group from thailand. but his face changed the moment he checked my passport. he didn't even glance at me when he's supposed to check that i was the person on the photo. then he tossed my passport - as in tossed it - and gave me the look. well, i just smiled and walked away as far as i could. teary eyed na ko but i told myself -- paranoid lang ako. i was being guilty of something i did not commit.

hongkong hongkong

malayo sa gulo
hongkong hongkong aaliwin kayo
hongkong hongkong malilimot ninyo

nadudurog... nadudurog...
parang puso kong nadudurog...

surprise! surprise!

found this sitting by my office door yesterday...

hmm.. actually i wasn't really surprised to see it. a friend in china told me a few weeks back that she's sending me a 'surprise'.

pero, what's inside the package still remained a surprise... she just told me that when she saw it, she had this urge to buy it for me... and i wondered, hmm, what could that be? (i was actually thinking of anything pink - probably the holga 135bc i asked her about last time).

then.. tada!!!

It's a paint set: one fine brush, palette, and the most interesting item is the canvas with a pre-drawn rose complete with labelled segments so you'd know what color you need to use in which part. nakakaaliw!

and if i followed the instructions, the drawing should look like this.

one amazing thing in this gift, though, is that i realized that among my friends, it's only winnie who still remember one good hobby i had that even i have already forgotten.

it's a pink world

sorry to BF (bayani fernando) haters, but i really like the color pink. you wouldn't know it by my personality (which is, yah) that i simply love with a capital LOVE color pink. i remember when i was in highschool (the best years! agree?) i and 2 other girlfriends decided that we should have our things in our fave color from bags down to hairclips. btw, i studied in a strict asylum where they require students to use plastics for bags (transparent bag) and black unfashionable ribbons for hair accessories. so there, i got all my things: comb, mirror, notebooks (when the teacher didn't require us to cover our notebook with certain colors - very popular in highschool. wonder what teachers got of it, eh), pens, etc. in different shades of pink. and if there's one thing that i never outgrew and have no plans of outgrowing, it is my passion for the color. go check my office and you see pink. go check my room and you see guess what? ahh pink! it's pink all over and it pleases me yeah!
